An example, from quote to payment
An eight-person masonry firm wins a quote for a renovation in Neuchâtel. The team's hours are logged against the quote lines, the Saturday time-and-materials work is signed on site by the client, and the invoice includes both, with its QR-bill. When the payment comes in, the bank's camt statement matches it to the invoice: there is nothing left to tick off.
Once sent, an invoice can no longer be rewritten: its PDF version is frozen and kept. Only the general accounting (balance sheet, general ledger) stays with your fiduciary: invoices and payments export to CSV, in a format Banana Accounting can read.
